My work spans soil behaviour, engineering education, public discussion, and student activities.
Root–Soil Reinforcement
I investigated how roots reinforce soil, with applications to slope stability and erosion control.
Engineering Teaching
I have taught civil engineering since 2017 and coordinated CIVL6456 in 2025. My teaching recognition includes FHEA and the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Tutoring.
Research in Public Conversation
My doctoral research has been featured in the media and discussed in a guest presentation to a local council.
Unsaturated Soils
My postdoctoral research examines unsaturated soil behaviour, cargo liquefaction and dynamic separation under cyclic loading.
Research and Industry
As Entrepreneur Lead at Sydney Knowledge Hub, I lead prototype development and industry validation of an instrumented free-fall penetrometer, supported by the PERIscope Commercialisation Award.
Student Community
I now serve as Honorary President of the NSW Chinese Students and Scholars Association, with responsibility for its Scholars’ Council. During my presidency, I organised cultural, career development and sporting events.
